Chopin - Rainrop Prelude

I was messing around with some video effects. It was overcast and drizzling outside as I played this, so I thought the muted look would be more appropriate. Plus YouTube is already flooded with this prelude, so I gotta be different.

This is basically my first Romantic piece I've ever played. Typically I'm so into Baroque and earlier I never make time for pieces like this, but this prelude by Chopin is too beautiful to ignore. Though I love to listen to the later "classical" works (Beethoven, Rachmaninov, etc), my musical love affair with all things Bach typically keeps my mind wholly occupied with early music.

I was rather insecure as I started practicing the Chopin Prelude Op. 28 No. 15, but the trepidation eventually gave way into confidence as I clocked more hours into it. This video has a couple of flubs here and there, but overall I am pleased with the result. The dynamic contrasts and rubato is all very deliberate and I think sounds suitably Romantic.

If you are inclined, please comment. I am self-taught from the ground up so any constructive criticism you can give will probably help me.

For a self-described begginer youve got a very emotionally informed piano style. Chopin would be pleased with this rendition.

PS If you can track it down theres a movie called "A Song to Rmemeber" from 1945 which is a chopin biopic, its one of my favourite movies, you gott see it. Au revior
