"Hey, Daddy, where does Sam Bowden hang out?" Degenerate hipsterism at it's best.
-
already read them!

I think the 91 opening is too bombastic. In the 62 version its all on the actor to show how creepy the characters is, the 91 version tries to rely on gimmicks too much.

Mitchum takes the cake. Mainly because he did 'bad-ass' better than anyone.
-
I love 1:57 Mitchum's like" WTF you looking @?" lol =P
-
"Okay Cady, moment you've been waiting for."
I always loved that quote but now.... ONLY now do i feel the real depth of it... Waiting 14 yrs to be told you're free to go...

@richiemonsterking7 I know :) I just watched it last night for the first night in years and it gave me chills. Especially Mitchum's performance, that always gets to me.

You can tell Mitchum's a creep 'cause he doesn't help the lady with her books.
-
@richiemonsterking7 Maybe you should watch the very beginning of the remake because where this user picked up it wasn't the very first scene

@quornholio I sympathised with De Niro. He got gang raped up the butt by white and by black men. I'd be angry too.

for some reason. i found the 62 version's music much creepier than the remake

The best part of the remake was Bob Deniro. The "everybody is guilty" story of the remake was good but I prefer the victimization of Gregory Peck and his picket-fence family.
The music was better in the original because of Bernard Herrmann.
