@lifesaver173 Autistic DOES NOT mean some one is sensitive to sound. It may be a symptom or autism may cause sound sensitivity but it does not mean sensitive to sound.
my son is autistic and just had his fourth birthday when we sang happy birthday he ran under the table and hid makes me feel better knowing I am not alone.
I said it before.. i'll say it again, garret is the MAN. love that kid, hes got lots of friends and he'll have a fine life and he wont let autism stand in his way, you did a great job raising him.

If he covers his ears, it's pretty common for him. I do it when something is loud.

I wear a special headset that blocks out noise. If you're singing Happy Birthday, it will sound like he can't hear your vocals as loud.
