Amusing tidbit: early versions of this game were named "Shinobi Kidd", and the first boss was named Mari-Oh, and he looked like Mario in Japanese armor. Though they changed Kabuto's portrait, his sprite still looks like Mari-Oh (though not as much as before), and still shrinks like Mario when damaged.

I wish they'd gone through with the idea for an entire series of Alex Kidd visiting various other Sega Games. I'd love to play Alex Kidd in Golden Axe World.
