Hello!

So the newborn won't beable to lay in a horizontal position in the original Skate? And how deep is this convertible bassinet? Seems pretty shallow.

The new skate 2010 has two separate pieces - a bassinet and a toddler seat. Do you think it is better?

I'm convinced! Now I'm ready to buy it. I thought of waiting for the elite to come out, but heck, need to shed those last remaining pounds anyway. The weight difference was really the only reason I wanted to wait, but I also like the lowered price of the first gen. Found it for $479. Thank you for this demo!

Actually the base of the seat has an indentation near the feet where the harness is meant to be stored, you do not store it behind the area where the babies back goes. The stitching also runs along the inner groove. Bugaboo bassinet maybe flatter solely due to the board in it.

the skate is not fully flat on the back of the baby, the bugaboo is. First there is a slight angle and then, becasue the same base is used for both positions (bassinet & stroller) there are a lot of stiches and connections of fabric. There is also the stuff that is used to secure the kid that is stored under the back of the kid and the baby has to lay down over it.

What about a Nissan Patrol (7 seater)??? Let me tell you it leaves little room for the grocery. Anyway... enjoy it.

Actually, I think the weight is GOOD- makes it sturdy.

Things I hated about the bugaboo- the fold, and the two piece thing- I do not want to switch that fabric over when i want a bassinet- that is REALLY annoying for me.

Perosnally i have 4 strollers right now... i am a huge stroller fan so for me there is no such thing as one stroller that "does it all".

Skate is a favorite of mine though....

It is fully flat in the Skate= How is the Bugaboo Flatter?

The Skate ELITE is not 23 pounds. IT is going to be 27 pounds.

I have talked to some various people who have been using the stroller with a toddler - a very active toddler and in a certain position it has tipped- so making it lighter is questionable in my opinion.
