Yes, we took Sam Beam, aka Iron & Wine, to taste some... wine, and then asked him to play in the cave, amongst the best bottles.
He's playing 'Tree by the River', from his latest album, 'Kiss each other clean'.

Directed by Colin Solal Cardo
Sound and Mix by JB Aubonnet
Produced by Chryde for La Blogotheque
Paris, October 2010

  • @jasonsgroovemachine Everything he does solo is much better in my opinion. Sam is an artist that doesn't need any accompaniment or studio flash. His bare voice and sole guitar works just fine.

  • Maybe it's just me but I think this is much better than the band version.

  • i'll make that 6 .................

  • 5 people need their ears cut off

  • @UnfamousJames to me it describes a different sensation. As a solo, he builds a very human, very natural, simple and emotional song. With his band, he can build something larger than the self, he can expand into whole soundscapes. And it's beautiful watching how artists like Iron and Wine, and Beirut, led by Sufjan Stevens, are really expanding their music with technology and varied instruments.

  • This man is a gift to humanity. Thanks universe!

  • @UnfamousJames I literally just said pretty much that same exact sentence earlier today, hah. So true.

  • it's good any way

  • @L0VEalive check out his daytrotter session. that one is my favorite version.

  • I didnt know Damian Marley played guitar

  • I don't know a single human being that can't relate to this song...a young love lost...fucking beautiful, just beautiful

  • I was definitely disappointed when I bought this off of iTunes; but despite the album, this version is honestly amazing.
