Recently, I made a LONG OVERDUE decision to disconnect my old home landline. Why ? It was a serious waste of money and never used by me, friends or family members. If you want to save a lot of money, consider cancelling your traditional home phone service ASAP. With the recession affecting many people, it might be a good idea to consider more affordable options.

  • Very smart move Sean. When I got my place, I knew I wasn't gonna need a landline. Any reasonable way to save a few extra bucks is a good thing.

  • @thruthealcove Thanks Kev, but why didn't you tell me about this a long time ago ??? You should send me a few bucks or the Motown coffee mug to make up for my loss of savings...;~)

  • good job bro make those phone companies pay , the taxes is outrageous , i have not had a land line in about 5 years, nothing beats WI Fi anywhere anytime.

  • @mrerrandrunner68 Bro, I'm with you on all those taxes & other fees that come along with having a landline....straight up Bullsh*t! I I love my cell phone, and if it becomes damaged or lost, I have a back up ready to go. One call to Verizon and it's on like popcorn. I may invest in a 2nd battery but my phone holds a charge pretty well. F*ck AT&T...SERIOUSLY

  • I did this 5 years ago. So many people I know only use a Cell Phone now.

  • @TruthSerum101 Yessir, I was led to believe that, but recently AT&T started showing commercials offering High Speed Internet without a landline, and that's how I found out.

  • @SeanDnATL So you were under the impression that you needed a landline for DSL? I thought that for awhile too. Without the phone, it's called a dry connection.

  • @TheCATTLEDOGakaMcNAB Yeah, I try not to think about all the extra money I missed out on by keeping the landline...FOR MY PC ??? Damn....Oh well, here's to the future..;~)

  • @TruthSerum101 LOL....I don't know about naked, but it was awkward not seeing that phone on my nightstand. Talk about peace & quiet in the morning...no more telemarketers or other idiots disturbing me. LOVE IT!!
