In this video I cover the basics of how I process vocals in a mix. Using plugins like compression, EQ, and delay you can create a polished and present lead vocal for your mixes.

  • Again I really appreciate your time, knowledge, & ability to explain things-thanks. It'll take time to digest the info in all these videos, but one question now: Which should I watch first? Ie, what's a good sequence to get a basic foundation, then build on it? Compression? Mastering? Arranging? Bouncing? Miking? Etc... Where do I start? Thanks. I'm 49, electric/acoustic guitar, vocals, drum machine, keyboards, glockenspiel (bells), MicroBR, need recording program! Confused "musical genius"...

  • @bookguitarguy Check out my JumpStart Your Mix series of videos. Just google JumpStart Your Mix. It will walk you through all things EQ, Compression, Editing, Mixing and Mastering.

  • What microphone do you use and do you just record in an open room?

  • @mrDeffBeatz I use a variety of microphones from Rode, Kel Audio, and Behringer.

  • @mrDeffBeatz And yes, i track in an open room if necessary.
