The supreme Heart Jewel of Dharma Protectors
His body is clothed in the garments of a monk
And on his head he wears a round, yellow hat
His hand holds a sword and a heart of compassion
To his followers he shows an expression of delight
But to subdue demons and obstructers he displays a wrathful manner

In Geshe Ngawang Dhargeyey's commentary to the Wheel of Sharp Weapons, it was stated that:
Likewise, Lama Trijang Dorje Chang, Junior Tutor to His Holiness the present Dalai Lama, folds his hands upon the crown of his head whenever he mentions Kyabje Pa-bongkha Rinpoche. He was such a great lama, unsurpassed by any, that hardly any lamas or geshes of the Three Pillars (the monasteries of Ganden, Sera and Drepung) had not been his disciples.

Apart from this great sadhana, Pabongkha Rinpoche also gave a historic 24-day exposition on the Lam Rim.
His 15 large volumes of collected works cover every aspect of Buddhism. One of his works is a Dorje Shugden practice that includes the empowerment and the sadhana of the female Buddha Vajrayogini, based on the Heruka Root Tantra. These texts are widely used in the Gelugpa tradition today.
