http://avclub.com The Onion's pop-culture-focused sister publication, The A.V. Club, is debuting a new weekly video series called "Inventory," based on its popular lists of the same name.

From Reefer Madness onward, movies and TV have historically been pretty terrible at representing real-life drug use. (Harold And Kumar perhaps comes closest to reality.) This week, we explore hilarious onscreen drug freakouts, from the funny and accurate (Freaks And Geeks) to the ridiculously over-the-top (the inimitable Death Drug and Desperate Lives). If you want to read the full Inventory, which includes lots more entries, you'll have to buy our book, conveniently titled Inventory.

  • how is it possible that reefer madness is not on this list? in case you don't know it, it's a 30's anti-weed propaganda production that shows innocent teens freaking out after trying pot. it reached cult status amongst stoners. well deserved.

  • 4:03 obv fake... he is not naked.

  • Nicolas Cage from Bad Lieutenant. Goddamn Cage owns every freakout, and there are multiple.

  • good freakouts

  • Death Drug is pretty great-too bad the guy talking about it is such a indie-eunuch manchild, complete with every sentence ending with a question mark ("this movie is really bad? and the masks are really cheap?")...

  • Now.... THAT's AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!!

  • Thanks to this video, I now know that drugs are far safer to take than what is portrayed on television. My life is at least 38% more exciting since I did coke! 8*D Thanks Onion!

  • Man, they didn't mention "Blood Freak"? It's a 1972 movie involving a guy who turns into a man-sized killer turkey from smoking marijuana. It's a gem.

  • Easy Rider? Really? C'mon....
