U K Drugs Advisory Committee Rightfully Condemn Government

A second senior scientist, Les King has resigned from the Government's Drugs Advisory Committee after the sacking of the Chairman Professor Nutt who revealed that tobacco and alcohol were more harmful than cannabis and ecstasy. Mr King says that an indepedent committee should be set up to make decisions, one separate from Government, similar to the Bank of England who independently set interest rates.Government want to classify ecstasy to class A and cannabis to class B drugs.

I can't understand why thousands of people march on a G8 summit when they don't have a hope in hell of changing international policy, but when it comes to local concerns like the Lisbon referendum or Cannabis classification, the streets are suspiciously empty - I'm beginning to think all these protesters are being secretly manipulated.

Americans are much better at standing up for their rights. California has licensed pot shops. Californians smoke pot in marijuana cafes.

The argument has to be raised again and again in Britain. Prime Minister Brown only wants to talk about war and economy, to silence the pot debate. We live in an oppressive, boxed-in country.

Pot is a natural relaxant- it has the opposite effect of caffeinated drinks like tea, coffee or coca-cola. People use pot to relax. Poisonous tobacco makes you tense...

I think politicians are afraid. They are afraid of change because they know that cannabis is more then just a relaxant, it's a mind enhancing substance as well, it opens up the mind and induces free thinking, and THAT is dangerous for political leaders as they don't want a free thinking, free acting society. They are afraid of losing their precious control so they will fight to keep it.

We just have to fight harder for free thinking !

Musicians use pot to create great music. The majority of musos who were the biggest bands took hard stuff, believe it or not. The Beatles were pioneers in that field- The Police (talking of U.K. pop band band, not the fascists) they took powdery substances. Brit band Madness were speedheads in early days, and the best political band of the era were The Specials who were potheads (at least some of the members were). Everything in moderation. This town is coming like a Ghost Town (great song)...

And while the brittish politicians are scratching their balls classifying "dangerous drugs" all the youth of the UK and Ireland runs over the channel in the weekend and sinks their money in the dutch tourist budget, partying all weekend in Amsterdam when they could have improved their own country's budget...

Brit Govt are the snobbiest of the Governments, and don't want pot fumes wafting around cafes, pubs, clubs and bars...Because they know what's good for people and what kills people- alcohol and cigarettes mainly, and the prescribed drugs that earn $Billions for pharamceutical companies across the World which are contracted to supply for the next 20 years

Or stop voting altogether and see what happens. Voting is a futile exercise anyway since there is no such thing as freedom of choice.

YOU HAVE NO CHOICE ! You are only given the illusion of choice while politicians and leaders are chosen by a few rich and powerful men that really control the show.

I say stop voting altogether and instead make anonymous posters with truth slogans and stick them on the walls in your city. Its a small act, but it's better

Gotta love all the artists of the 60s-80s, they sure knew how to party and they pulled of some of the best art on this fucking planed while they were all HIGH. That was the peak of human civilization! We were excelling in every field, music, movies, technology, art, space exploration. We were on top of the world !
