Vintage Synths Vol 1 - KORG Poly 800
German synth historian Matthias Becker produced a CD series back in 1990 with tracks made with one synth only. The CDs were named "Synthesizers Von Gestern Vol 1/2/3". This track was composed by Klaus Stülen at Originalton West Studio / Köln.

  • My Mum and Dad gave mine away to my cousin because I was storing it in the attic....he was unemployed for a year and I asked him what he was doing in that time and he said `I was reading the instruction book.'

  • And to think that I SOLD one, and the one with the reversed colour keys!!!!!! I must have been crazy!!!!

Mind you, I sold it to a person who now does synth demos around the world!!! So there you go...

Maybe I'll get one again one day!!!!!

I kind of miss it - small and beautiful!

  • does the square wave have pulse width modulation??

  • cool, I only researched a little into Korg, this is news to me.

  • It does a good at job at emulation percussion too. Like horse treds.

  • It's actually pretty impressive how it could shape itself to sound like trumpets or strings like in this video.

  • I have one! Don't know how to use it though!

  • I literally gave mine away. I do miss it, but the man who received it later became a synth nut because of it...and is now touring in Germany.

  • Y'see? Now, this is the kind of demo you make if you want to get people interested in the machine. Well done.

  • This is rad! Excellent work.

  • I had one, bought new when it came out. My first synth. Had it for some years, kind of started to hate it. Sold it and to be honest - I still don´t miss it and no regrets. Bah, shitty thing. One filter, never again.

  • Is there any way to control the speed of the VCF? Im curious because I just picked up one of these and am about to use it in the studio. I love some of the almost arpeggiator type things you can do with the VCF but the speeds varie from program to program. Can anyone help me out here?
