A day with Satish Kumar, in his interview for Earth Pilgrims, part 1/2.

http://www.earthpilgrims.com/

Satish Kumar is an Indian, currently living in England, who has been a Jain monk and a nuclear disarmament advocate, and is the current editor of Resurgence, founder and Director of Programmes of the Schumacher College international centre for ecological studies and of The Small School. His most notable accomplishment is a "peace walk" with a companion to the capitals of four of the nuclear-armed countries - Washington, London, Paris and Moscow, a trip of over 8,000 miles. He insists that reverence for nature should be at the heart of every political and social debate.

Would Mr Hancock let Mr Kumar talk? Would Mr Hancock kindly leave center stage? Statish Kumar is a very interesting man with a hell of a lot of very interesting things to say and share with us. I only wish that Mr Hancock had been humble enough to allo Statish the space and time for him to just share with us at his own pace whatever he wanted to. In other words, I wish Mr Hancock had SHUT UP and let Statish talk. This interview was supposed to be about Statish and NOT ABOUT Mr HANCOCK.

I think we should be much further along. Honestly, and I wish this didn't have to sound like its coming out of left field, but science should be putting much more research into substances like DMT. Instead, psychedelics are shunned as "drugs" and we're left with a very small number of people raving about their profound and fascinating effect on their consciousness.

Wrong. You can't validate your opinion about me in the same way that I can validate my opinion on Satish Kumar. My comment is in response to this video and others I've seen from which I've had the opportunity to learn a lot about what he believes. Go find a two hour video about me and my beliefs and leave your comment there.

Watch the Dawkin's program "The Enemies of Reason" and try to wrap your head around what Kumar is saying. He is basically talking about how rocks and trees have spirits. It just sounds like the same nice sounding but inspecific spiritual talk that I've heard many times before. As far as spiritual teachers go, Kumar certainly isn't my favorite. Personally, I can understand and relate to people like Ram Dass a lot more.
