Here is a video of Antoinette K-Doe's funeral on Feb 28, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. There were quite a few musicians playing, and you can see the Treme Brass Band leading the charge here. R.I.P. Antoinette! Also, they took the Ernie K-Doe mannequin from Antoinette's Mother-In-Law lounge, propped it up on the carriage that followed Antoinette's coffin. Ernie K-Doe passed away about eight years ago, and the mannequin was kept by his widow at her bar.

  • For sure. I'm lucky to have witnessed it. They marched from the Treme church where the services were held to the Mother-In-Law lounge underneath the overpass on Claiborne. They stopped there, and lifted the mannequin Ernie K-Doe and carried him past Antoinette's coffin and into the club. It was both surreal and beautiful.
