See the Bombers fly up, up!
To win the premiership flag.
Our boys who play this grand old game,
Are always striving for glory and fame!
See the Bombers fly up, up,
The other teams they don't fear,
They all try their best,
But they can't get near,
As the Bombers fly up,!

@extremist77 I see that I'm not the only Essendon barracker who recognizes this melody!
Thanks for posting the lyrics, friend!

Let's all stand upon our legs, be like two fried eggs and keep our sunny side up! A brilliant motto for present times as it was in those far off days of the Great Depression 1929 - 1935.

I first heard this song on a old film by the same name as the song. It was called sunny side up, I believe, and it was a good film. They aired it on TCM.

When today's youth discover the hits of the Roaring Twenties...WATCH OUT!

Great uplifting fun old tune from the late 20's- tough times had hit or were about to and people sure could have used something positive- couldn't we all today/ All we get is garbage entertainment by spolied kids with no talent and no message of hope.

Check out the original version, Janet Gaynor's singing and dancing from the movie "Sunnyside," filmed in 1929. I think it blows this one right out of the water.
There actually was a Paper Moon soundtrack album issued shortly after the movie was released--AND I HAVE IT! Some of the cuts were remastered very poorly, especially "Let's Have Another Cup Of Coffee." The song was used in the scene with John Hellerman- I believe that's the actor's name (the sheriff)

Yes, Hellerman played a double role in "Paper Moon"--both the crooked sheriff and his bootlegger cousin.
Thanks!
