In this issue of T&D we look at the catechism of the Catholic church and how it stands against God's word the bible. Who is standing on the truth? Is it okay to follow "traditions"? What does the bible say about these? Are there any conflicts between the two?

In this video we look specifically at...

Part 1
Salvation ONLY thru the Catholic Church
The sacraments (general)
Catholic Church has power & authority to forgive sin
Baptism ONLY from the Catholic Church
Papal infallibility
Sacrament - Baptism
Sacrament -- Penance
Sacrament -- Eucharist

*NOTE CORRECTION: at 2:12 of the video it lists catechism # 256. This is a misprint. Catechism 256 does not apply - it was merely the page # of the Catholic Catechism book that was used as a ref. Sorry for any trouble this caused. Thanks mf607 for pointing that out... BUT it still doesnt remove the numerous red flags created by the Catholic doctrine when you compare it to the bible.

Jesus said "Heaven & earth would pass away, but not Him & His words". So logic dictates that if we base our beliefs on the words other than Jesus Christ & the bible, then we are opening ourselves up to error & that could have massive repercussion (check Matt 7:23, Matt 25:41, Luke 13:27). IOW if we preach, teach or follow "a message other than" what Jesus & the disciples preached (Galations 1:8), we are to flee & hold fast (1 Thessalonians 5:21) to God and His word.

* ADDITIONAL NOTE: The catechisms listed are not all inclusive of the Catholic doctrines that go against or conflict against scripture. There are more, but due to the time constraints, I could not post them all - IOW do your own research; use God's word as your standard and measure everything against it.
