There are sync'ing functions in the LF that allow the unit to determine if an effect assigned to an IA Switch is available in a preset (but not active). RED means the effect has a function, but is off. Grey usually means that the effect is not available in the preset. There are other reasons as well- GREY switches can be "blocked" from being triggered by accident- RED would go to a GREEN state when pressed in this case. couple other differences...

can someone explain what is the difference between red and grey IA switch? is it red=off but can be turned on and grey=off and can't be turned on?
