OFFICIAL 1337arts.com Time Lapse Video!!!
http://space.1337arts.com

Sorry this video took so long to get out. I was having some problems with the video compression (The original video was over 7GB!!)

Anyways, like I said, the video doesn't look so great, but it does show all of the views that our camera captured during its flight.

If you would like to see the original pictures used to create this video, you may get them from my MIT Public Space:

http://web.mit.edu/jlee08/Public/1337arts/

They are in the folder titled "TimeLapse3" or in the Zip File titled "TimeLapse3.zip"

You have our permission to use any of these photographs (in a non-slanderous manner), provided that you credit Oliver Yeh, Justin Lee, Eric Newton, and 1337arts.com

Unfortunately, the images uploaded to my public space have been compressed (the original images are too large for me to upload). If you would like a copy of any of the original images (as you can see, there are quite a lot and many others besides the one on our site that are pretty sweet... although they might take a while to find...), email info@1337arts.com with the number of image you'd like to have (e.g. IMG_5565) and we will send you the original, full-size copy.

p.s. the images of the trees look squashed and there are some issues where you might see a random picture upside down in the time series b/c there were pictures that we had rotated and forgot to rotate back before making the movie.

Best,
-Justin, Oliver, and Eric.

  • Great Video! Next time point the camera towards earth instead of Mars

  • Is it possible to download the high-res images (which will be credited to Oliver Yeh, Justin Lee, Eric Newton, and 1337arts.com)? The MIT link does not seem to be active.

  • Hello, Great video! I am planning of doing this in the next couple of weeks but I live close to the sea and I am scared that it will drop into the sea. I was wondering how far away it landed away from the take of point, what camera you used, and the gps tracker?

  • Wow its soooo wonderful!!

  • hmmmm.... ballon launch over donegal :-p

  • very, very cool!

  • This video goes well with the song Circulation by Thurston Moore.

  • Next time use a fisheye! Also maybe put the setup in a sphere or cylinder and make it evenly balanced so it doesn't spin so much.
