In 2008, Iowa was devastated by the worst flooding event in state history.
Within weeks, the University of Iowa's Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research (CGRER) began conducting experiments to better understand and predict future flood events.
To date, the National Science Foundation has awarded eight flood-related grants to CGRER members.
This video serves as a primer for CGRER's involvement with the 2008 floods.
