The ending has to be the best 30 seconds in all of symphonic music. It is so short...Might as well see it twice...
Someone wrote about this:The ending has to be the best 30 seconds in all of symphonic music. When you're hearing it live, and all that brass gets going for the big final chord, goose bumps upon goose bumps set in, even if it's the middle of a hot summer!
Interesting, it's actually a little slower than some, but very exciting because the sixteenth notes are much more articulated in this performance (and the timpani plays very distinctly) it doesn't just barge through. The lack of wash gives an impression of great speed and excitement...

Schubert's Great Symphony , Bruckner's Apocalyptic Symphony, Beethoven's 5. and 9. symphony... all of these have also epic ending of the 4. movement :)

Then you haven't heard the last 30 seconds of Schubert's Great Symphony C Major, 4th Movement.

A bit of an overstatement to say the least, to call it the best 30 seconds of all symphonic music.
But Karajan is always great!
