The Cory Publishing 25th Anniversary Party officially gets underway when Rachel and Amanda enter the main ballroom and are joined by Sam. Evan and Iris notice Mac's absence and wonder where he is. Rachel, Amanda, and Sam chat with Cass and Nicole. Cass and Rachel both wish Felicia could be at the party, and Rachel says they'll just have to have another one when Felicia is able to be there.

John and Sharlene arrive and take a walk on the deck. John ponders the possibility of a Frame vs. Cory battle, while Sharlene is looking forward to seeing Gwen again, hoping she hasn't changed.

Evan finds Gwen in the stateroom Rachel used to get ready, already heavily hitting the champagne. Gwen trash talks the Corys, especially Rachel, and refuses to listen when Evan tries to get her to drop the hostility and get along with everyone like Rachel and Mac want. Gwen accuses Evan of having changed.

Robert stops Iris from carping about Rachel, and they are then joined by Vivien, fresh from her spa treatment.

Rachel introduces Matt to Virginia Graham, a friend of the family. After Virginia heads off to mingle, Rachel consoles Matt over Josie's refusal to attend the party, assuring him that Josie will come around. Then Liz and Russ Matthews arrive with Pat Matthews Randolph. Rachel and Pat are joyfully reunited and catch each other up on their children (Amanda being married with a baby, and Matthew being all grown up, while Pat's son Michael is away on business, and her daughter Marianne just had a baby), and Pat asks after Mac. When Liz and Russ take Pat over to reintroduce her to Amanda, Rachel tells Matt that Mac won't be attending the party and asks him to help her with the host and hostess duties.

Ada arrives with her younger daughter Nancy, who is joyfully reunited with Rachel and Matt. Ada's proud to see her daughters together. Nancy can't believe Iris's nerve in the whole "Chief" saga, nor can she believe that Jamie actually married Vicky. Ada and Rachel defend Vicky to Nancy, saying Jamie's been good for her.

Jake tells Michael and Donna that Marley decided not to attend the party. Donna says maybe Marley would have come if Jake had escorted her instead of working the party. Jake tells Donna they need the money. Michael stops them from bickering as Donna wonders where Vicky and Jamie are, saying this is an important night for Jamie and it's not like him to be late.

  • Wow, now this was a real anniversary celebration! It looks like a who's-who of past and present characters. Anyone know who Virginia Graham was, and when she appeared on AW? Im guessing it was the 60's or early 70's.

  • Hey do you guys remember that the actress who played Susan also played Winnie Cooper's Mother on The Wonder Years.

  • I wish Susan Matthews came back for the anniversary

  • It's hard to believe that Pat Randolph had an Affair with Mike Bauer in the 1960's.

  • Don't you hate people who continuously "blame" other people for their bad fortune over the years. Like Digger on Dallas.

  • I think this was the last hurrah of the classic AW ...

  • Those were the days...great soap opera! Another World was in a class by itself.

  • It's Preacher!

  • It was wonderful to have so many fan favorites return for this anniversary. So sad that it also coincided with the loss of Douglass Watson.
