@Ryanfoozoo I agree with you 100% ASP is a fucking joke. Just look at Jamie Obrien, arguably one of the best surfers to charge pipe.... Truth is you'll see the best surfing in freesurf, not these pathetic waves in New York... People dont realize it but ASP is making surfing something that its not... Its all money for these guys, that cant even keep their shit straight. Look what happened with their "premature" announcement of Kellys 11th title. "Scoring issues".. What a fucking joke...

Pro surfing is a joke. It's fickle. It's not representative of the best surfer in the water on the day more often than not. There's so many variables which see guys scraping into the top 40 beating the likes of Slater, Parko, Reynolds, Martinez, Burrows on a regular basis. The best surfing you'll see is these guys in freesurf on a day where tents aren't dominating the beach, groupies aren't round and theres no ball sac on a loud speaker talking you through a wave.

It must be so frustrating to work your whole life to make rankings and become the surfer Bobby or any of the top surfers are, only for it to be (in his and others pros eyes) undermined by a system that doesn't promote competition like they grew up with that has created champions we all know worked their way to the top. If you just have to wait your turn...That's Bobby blowing his stack after keeping it inside for a long time. Can't say it was done with tact but it is good to know what some feel
