The CFF Viseu de Sus forestry railway runs in the beautiful Vaser Valley in the Carpathian mountains in the north of Romania. This 760mm gauge line was probably the last of its kind in the world to regularly use steam power.
Activity around the depot at Viseu de Sus as various steam locomotives prepare for duty. All except one are 0-8-0 tanks, the exception being an Krauss 0-6-0 tank with also a diminutive tender. All are wood fired. Look out for the grim reaper at the end of the clip. October 2006
