A few snips from Tohoku and Hokkaido
Shot with my old Canon S3is before I became serious about shooting video and in no way indicative of the quality of my later offerings.

  • Japan is a damn pretty Country......

  • It's a ATS chime. ATS is the standard train's safety system in Japan.

The first shrill chime rings when the red signal exists, and a driver must push the confirming button at the cab within 5 seconds, or train will be stoped.

After pushing the button, the chime turns to a rhythmic one(ding dong ding dong...). This chime don't holt till a driver stops the train.
