Apparently, the Super Sonic video for Sonic Riders (and its sequel--but I'll get to that later) have been very popular, and a new frequently asked question has popped up as of late: How do you unlock Super Sonic? This video is part of a series that will show the Gold rank for every mission in the game.
How irresponsible I am! I just left the Sonic Riders mission coverage as it was when I uploaded some Pokémon Battle Revolution videos. So here's Babylon Garden, with Digital Dimension coming up next.
Mission 1 is about doing tricks. You'll need 12 points to pass an 24 points for the Gold Rank.
C - 0 pts
B - 1 pt
A - 2 pts
AA - 4 pts
S - 6 pts
SS - 8 pts
X - 10 pts
You'll see that this time, there's plenty of wiggle room, as I missed a trick opportunity but still finished with 28 points. Part of this, I'd suspect, is due to the difficulty of the stage. I hear more frustrated complaints about this stage and how tough it is more than any other stage in the game.
Mission 2 is about finding pieces of junk that can be used for machine parts. You're using Tails for this one; Babylon Garden doesn't favor any one category of character over another so it works out. The locations are:
1. Right in front of where you begin.
2. On the inside of the first hairpin left turn. This may take a few tries.
3. When you see the path split in three after the hairpin turn left, take the middle route to get onto a flight ramp.
4. On the inside of the first hairpin turn right.
5. Right before the fighter planes destroy the path and create a turbulence path up.
6. Right after disembarking from the plane, it's right in the middle of the path. Be careful not to let the dash pads careen Tails away from the piece.
7. When the path straightens out after the plane ride, it's to the left.
8. Do a trick off the quarterpipe where the 7th piece is to land in a flight hoop. It in the 2nd hoop.
9. And this one is in the 3rd hoop.
10. On the inside of the last hairpin turn left. This may also take a few tries. It did with me.
11. Right before the last jump.
12. Do a high trick (hold the control stick down as you do the trick) to land on the upper platform to end the lap on.
In Mission 3, you use Sonic and must finish a lap within 1 minute 15 seconds. While there are plenty of trick opportunities, don't waste too much time charging up for them. Also, feel free to consume as much air as you need before the turbulence, because you'll gain all your air back after that. However, they added a bunch of pillars to get in your way. Not that many though; there are only two clusters. You'll get the Gold if you can finish within 1 minute 5 seconds (or with 10 or more seconds left on the timer). This also has room for error; I steered poor Sonic into a pillar but still finished in time for the Gold.
The pillars themselves become the central theme in Mission 4. Most are out in the open, but some are not. There are 2 of them in the right path when the course splits in three. All in all, these targets are small, so be prepared to retry a lot. Get 9 of them to pass or all 15 for the Gold. Don't forget that there's one right before the finish line--don't get discouraged and retry just because you have 14 of them.
Mission 5 is about grinding. Indeed, in this one, the rails also tend to line up one after another, though a few are slightly misaligned. Another tricky part here are the 10th and 11th rail. The 9th rail will suddenly swerve left near the end. Before Sonic gets swumg in that direction hop off and go onto the rail in front of Sonic. That rail will go around a tower and drop you off onto the same rail as before, except this counts as the 11th one. (Don't forget to jump, of course.) You may have also noticed a junk piece on the 10th rail. Unlike the normal red, blue, green, purple, and gray ones, these are black. They appear here and there and are used to build other boards, just like the regular junk pieces, except that there's a specific quantity of these (when you replay a mission and collect it, it won't count), and a couple of boards to unlock require only black junk pieces.
When i was playing (Sonic grind mission) i didn't knew how to jump to the other line (rope, i dont't know what it is) to get the treasure, it was so hard!

@SelmaaPanther2213 They're grind rails. The game always calls them that.

There were a lot of close calls on the grind mission...

@nin10doadict Indeed, there were. But many of the rails were close enough to the ground that I could just go back on them.
