This beautifully proportioned 2-seater was called the Kaiser-Darrin because it came from wealthy industrialist Henry J. Kaisers' fairly large Kaiser-Frazer Auto Company and was designed by legendary custom coach builder, Howard A. "Dutch" Darrin. The first true American sports car with its prototype introduced even before that of the Corvette and T-Bird. Always a forward-thinker, Darrin recognized the benefits of fiberglass construction as well as incorporating his patented, sliding "pocket" doors and 3-position convertible top. Bodies supplied by Glasspar Boat Company, a pioneer in the use of fiberglass for specialized cars. For more information contact barnold1586@gmail.com

I saw one, only one, but not on the road, it was at the Concours d' Elegance at Meadow Brook Hall. The owner opened and closed the doors for me. Made my day.

interesting....from the rear and sides it looks pretty contemporary in design......but the front is pure "odd-ball 1950s in design"
