I managed to have a fish for a change and caught this awesome Barramundi Cod, A quality fish of a few kilo's. One of the most impressive fish to catch on the Great Barrier Reef and not caught very often. Barramundi Cod are now protected on the reef and have to be released. Hopefully we'll start to see a few more in the future. Barramundi cod, have beautiful markings and famous for that head which resembles the famous Barramundi which is usually caught in the estuaries and dams. They can be hard to release and by diving the cod into the depths, gets it back into the pressure it came from and assists the release greatly, thanks Adam. You've gotta love the Barramundi Cod and hopefully you'll be lucky enough to catch one on the reef.
Also very popular in the marine fishtank trade, also known as either Panther Grouper or Humpback cod as Juveniles. Unreel being totally white with speckled black dots.
Please subscribe for more great fishing action, tips and news, and heaps more videos to come from our recent Reefari Hardline trip.
Cheers Greg
