Some people have asked me what exactly progesterone is. So I felt the need to look up some facts and share them with you. Please note Im not in the medical field. The best place to get medical information is from your doctor. Here are the sites I found my information on if you would like to learn more.

  • Wow I just watched this and it hit the nail right on the head!! There were a few things in this video that I hadn't heard of....great video Sasha!! Do you happen to remember if you were put on progesterone or progestin and how much and how often did you take it? I've just read a lot of conflicting information.

  • @Kaylandsky I was put on progesterone 100mg twice a day until I was 13 weeks :) by then the placenta takes over. As for the conflicting information you're going to find that. Not many doctors believe it works or even helps. Did you see the video response Dr. Erika posted? Look below and you should see it

  • Part 2: It is basically a contraceptive. So I was worried that because the implanon already effects my hormones (I assume) will the progesterone interfere with this and higher my chance of getting pregnant making the implanon not as effective?!??!

This is a serious question. Help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

  • rainbowmagicness, I wish I could say but I don't have any medical background or knowledge on implanon. This is something you should discuss with your doctor. Its not recommended you use creams without first discussing it with your ob/gyn. Im sorry I couldnt be more help. I only know what my doctor has told me and what I have found online

  • wow!! my OBGYN said usually after recurrent miscarriage the blood disorders and thyroid are the first thigns they test! good luck sasha let us know what u find out!

  • thanks :) Yeah thats why I switched doctors this one is great! she is very proactive and does whatever tests I want done. Im also talking with the hematologist and he ran A LOT of tests. I will tell everyone about that later. Lets just hope everything comes back normal......

  • Just wanted to give you some resources for over the counter options. :)

  • Part 1: Will progesterone cream interfere with the implanon?

I have had the implanon for about a year and a half and have recently started using progesterone cream for my personal reasons. Peogesterone cream balances hormones especially if you have high estrogen levels. The implanon is a 3 year rod in your arm with releases chemicals which I assume alter my hormones to lower my chances of falling pregnant dramatically.

  • Been through two miscarriages... had to do the D & C too :( Ended up on progesterone shots. OUCH they hurt cuz the progesterone is so thick! I have two kids, so it did work! What do u think the difference is between the shots and the suppositories? I watched your old vids on what you've been through. There is something so special about Moms that have been through this. I personally think we love at a higher level, cuz of our experience. It makes us better parents. IMO!

  • thanks girly

  • Thanks for sharing, I should get one of these tests done soon, my fiance and I wanna have a baby soon and my periods aren't regular any way, it might be good for me.

  • I just read this today (Wed) I hope your appointment went well. Good Luck waiting for the results (they took our lab 3 weeks). Let us know about the results as soon as you find something out :)
