The cull happened, it happens every year but the story goes on. Thanks to the efforts of Betty Rowe and others like this dear lady there are still Arapawa Goats! Our first two Arapawa kids arrived here in Wild Wales in October last year and our baby boy was born on New Year's Day 2010 and will be coming here in the Autumn. We look forward to our own Arapawa kids being born in 2011!
I started with six imported goats. The four females had two kids a piece so that put the number up to fourteen. However, my health took a turn for the worse and I had to rehome them but they are all in different homes where the owners are continuing to breed and increase the numbers.
What can we do to help? Betty,if you let us know we will try to do something to help prolong the existence of this beautiful bread.

Sadly, Betty passed away a few months ago, but her family and friends have vowed to keep up the good work.
