What a terrific individual Carl Sagan was. Would he be stunned to see that even now, some 44%+ of his fellow Americans are exactly as he describes them at 8:15 !

Well, how many Christians are like him?

I surely haven't seen too many.

I happen to be a Christain but I really am inspired by Carl Sagan, I may not agree with everything he is promoting but he is someone that more people should aspire to be like. Atheists should be more like him.

This is a very telling interview.

I thought he had cancer and enden up dying in the cancer center w/ pneumonia? But yeah, it really sucks that he went when he did. So much left to learn. He was only 62 I think.

No, this is a common myth. He suffered from myelodysplasia for a long time, and eventually it killed him.

Myelodysplasia is a very complex disease and can result in a very low blood cell count, it eventually can mutate into lukemia.

Im on the verge of tears with almost everything he speaks about. He is a rare scientist. One that may never exist again. He is one of the greatest poets and scientists who have ever lived.

I used to teach astronomy at the local college. I became unemployed due to the governments decision to cut all science courses out of the curriculum. However, should you wish to learn how to ice a cake, arrange flowers, learn Indian head massage or generally waste your time away then they now provide the course. And you wonder why the general public are so ignorant? Speaks volumes. Carl Sagan; Thank you so much for being such an in inspiration when I was a kid. Never forgotten.
