two blind women one playing beautifully strange electric guitar while the other sings sublimely into a microphone . powered by a battery carried in a bag by the guitar player & blasted out through a megaphone carried by a young man who leads them along while selling some sort of raffle tickets [so i was told] . filmed in saigon / ho chi minh city 2002 . i freeze framed it where the camera work got too shaky ... & yes i did give them money .

  • nhìn 2 bác này mà em ko kìm đc nước mắt. gia đình em cũng là 1 gdinh nghèo, bố mẹ lo từng đồng cho 2 anh em ra thủ đô ăn học, còn bố mẹ ở nhà khổ lắm. làm lụng vất vả sớm khuya, nhưng còn đc hạnh phúc hơn 2 bác này, già rồi mà còn phải đi hát rong nữa, họ còn tàn tật nữa. em thương quá. em ước gì họ là ông bà, chú bác hoặc là bố mẹ của em cũng đc, để em chăm sóc họ. em vọc đàn guitar với ý nghĩa mua vui, ko ngờ có người chơi guitar giỏi mà khổ thế này...xin mọi người đừng dè bỉu chính phủ nữa

  • The young man was holding lottery tickets. In Vietnam, poor people sells lottery tickets to earn a living. These 3 people were selling lottery tickets while entertaining people with "cai luong", a form of music invented in early 1900's in the South of Vietnam. Most ballads of "cai luong" tell sad love story or life. This form of music were popular in the South until today.

  • @thegarbeen not at all. And oh thats very very kind of u to think that

  • @lilystupidlove Thanks for the reply, i am from the UK and have never came across vietnamese music before but this is amazing. I think I actually prefer this to any music I have heard come out of the west for a long time.

  • @thegarbeen its a traditional kind of song of vietnam called "cai luong" ( i think so ^^). They are saying like " i'm writing for you" "why did you go". And oh i'm a vietnamese ppl, but i cant hear this song directy.

  • @nhucohoa Can you explain to me what they are singing about please ?
