A VERY GOOD SYNOPSIS WITH THE BEST SCENES TAKEN FROM THIS OBSCURE MOVIE. AS YET NOT AVAILABLE ON DVD. WONDERFUL ACTING AND A VERY YOUNG 1932 MODEL BETTE DAVIS. GEORGE ARLISS AT HIS VERY BEST!

  • I can't get over his gaunt face and dark painted lips. It's hard to believe this man is straight and remotely interested in women. Still it's a great movie. I saw the Liberace version. He was pretty good.

  • Quite a bit missing from this selection of scenes. I saw the original and believe me in its entirety the film makes perfect sense.

    BTW it was redone years later with Liberace as the pianist and Dorothy Malone in the Bette Davis part. It was titled Sincerly Yours. I think Joanne Dru played the Mildred part. Can't remember for sure. Not as wonderful a film, but basically the same story reworked with lots more sugary sentiment.
