Itv news have just featured an elderly man who has not eaten for 2 months and he has lost his animals due to the intense sun and lack of water.Can anything be done to help this man before it is too late? He was on the news programme Wed 17th August at 10pm. Member of the Turkana tribe and he had difficulty saying his name due to starvation.

Jason is an insperation to me and always will be, not only as an actor but as a human being. When this whole thing happened I never once faltered from thinking that he'd get involved somehow. He's a wonderful, generous and caring man, truly.
I hope everyone does what they can for these people...

Hi Peter - sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Many of our members are helping the pastoralist peoples of northern Kenya, including the Turkana. I can't promise you that this individual will have received help but if the ITN crew were travelling with an aid agency - and it is very likely they were - then that agency would almost certainly be working or planning to work in the area where the filming took place.

Jason was amazing. Very keen to help and wanting to have a personal input to the script to make sure it really reflected his personal concern. He wrote this himself:
“We are an incredibly kind and generous nation and we know the joy of giving. We wouldn’t walk past families and children suffering like this in our street and these really are our neighbours. So please give what you can. However much you can manage. Your money will make a difference”
