Gary Schrader's O scale layout

A showcase for Gary Schrader's collection of O scale model trains, mostly Southern Pacific and Santa Fe. Most of them have been extensively re-worked with more details, lights, DCC and sound. This layout is usually open to attendees of O Scale West (http://www.oscalewest.com/). Video shot in 2007.

where did you get the O scale daylight loco's and cars???

@btomimatsucunard Actually, this isn't my layout.  I just visited and shot some video. If memory serves, Gary told me the Daylight locomotives are from Precision Scale, and the cars are Pecos River Brass. Gary has added a number of details to both, including full interiors and lights in the cars.

Now this is truly what model railroading is ! 1. Correct era locomotives nicely detailed and weathered. 2. Correct train consist for each train, both passenger and freight. 3. Correct running speed. 4. No constant whistle blowing throughout the train trip. 5. Beautifull and acurate sceanery. PEACE and PROPS to Gary Schrader, he is what i aim to be when i grow up. Up to O scale that is : )

Gary's work is absolutely magnificent. The work on some of his models is absolutely stunning.

all very nice i realy like the ac cabforward set i i was reading alot about them those engines go back in years alot farther then pepole think realy thay were like the early days of the bigboy engines daylight is a favorte by many and i too like it but there only one daylight 4449 set i want from lionel and thats the one from 1982-83
