This is my iPhone 3GS running 4.0 beta 3. That is a youtube video(in html5), to do this yourself, go to youtube.com/html5 with Safari, join the beta then choose a video that doesn't have ads(they will play in Flash which doesn't work). When in the video, the play button will appear, but if you double tap the home button to open multitasking, slide to the left and you'll see Safari's icon and play, skip etc. Play and it will start playing. The first time, I tried on MacRumors and it didn't stop, now it stops I don't know why. I think this is cool.

  • This seems to have been deleted from the iOS4 GoldMaster edition (which I'm running on a 3GS), can anyone confirm this? It just opens the fullscreen quicktime player for me...

I hope we'll see this return in the final version that's being released tomorrow...

  • @Kwintenc Yeah, it doesn't work anymore in the GM..

  • thanks for sharing. looks like there is a bit of work left to do, but html5 video is getting there.

  • @akarpo It's kinda weird. It works perfectly now.. Maybe I'll update the video, but I'm going to germany for the next 8 days so I can't now.
