Women Artists in Action
The purpose of WOMEN ARTISTS IN ACTION is to present the artworks of women who are actively engaged in documenting, articulating and expressing critical issues in society, through means of numerous forms of art. The works of Korean and Korean American women artists Jia Chang, Eun Sook Kwak, Ji Hae Kim, eDa (Okryun Yoon, Jiyeon Kim), SungKeum Ahn, Dai Sil Kim Gibson, Grace Yoo, Jung Hi Kang, Sojung Kwon, and non-Korean women artists' works such as Taraneh Hemami and Nancy Hom will join the exhibition. The content of artworks will cover the range of civil rights, the peace movement, decolonization, women's liberation, diaspora, and environmental issues. The exhibit will include video installations, animation, painting and drawings and performances.
