First video upload...a test more than anything. Steely Dan on my VPI Scout turntable.

Forgive the quality as it is poor at best.

  • To be honest with you, I don't think they made much of a difference in the vibration. The table sounds the same now as it did before I put it on the circular pads. Having said this, the entertainment unit I have the turntable on isn't very 'dense' and it is probably adding to vibration issues. If you're interested in trying them out for yourself, do a google search on 'sonic' saucers'. They are similar to what I have in my system.

  • @SCVandam

My main issue is with footfall vibrations. I just purchased this table yesterday and cannot wait to get it!

    Thanks!

You will be very happy with the Scout...it is an exceptional turntable. What cartridge will you be pairing it with?

  • Love me some Aja. My favorite album.

  • @SCVandam Is that the Cisco reissue you are playing? I have the Cisco reissue and the MFSL master and

I like both although I have to admit that I have not listened to the Cisco all the way through. I have listened to the MFSL for the past 30 years and they are different but great to listen to.

  • I have had my Scout for sometime now. I have a Benz Wood M2 on it. Certainly the best TT I have ever owned. I understand why it is the most reviewed..and the most positively reviewed of any TT made. More bang for the buck....or should I say Less bang.......LOL! Just an amazing piece of engineering.

  • @SCVandam

You are right! I just got mine setup today and it is light years ahead of my Music Hall! The Benz Micro is sounding pretty darn good to!

    Thanks,

    CDS

  • @SCVandam

I am getting a Benz Micro Silver for now as it came this way in a package deal. I think it will do me well.

  • Hello,

Can you tell me about the metal pieces that your cones are sitting in? Do they help much with vibration?

    Thanks,

    CDS
