On a recent trip to Montreal, I took a Lumiere video of what I thought was an interesting intersection below. Are traffic patterns a cliche in terms of video blogging and/or making Lumieres? Either way, I felt it mesmerizing to watch the traffic in this way, which is definitely a qualitatively different experience from driving through it.

Note to those who saw this before: I had to remove the other version because it still had sound. I forgot to take it out. It had 120 views when I took it down. Honest! Have you ever had to take a video down before?

  • They have the weiredest lights there.... you CAN'T turn right on a red light AND you can't turn AT ALL for the first 10 seconds of a green light

  • Maybe they should have driving simulations for tourists, so you can get used to the rules of the road in the new place. Hey, I think I just invited a great product! Thanks for stopping by.

  • i thought the cars under were gonna crash into the other cars lol

  • Exactly! That's one of the reasons I thought this intersection was interesting! Thanks for noticing.

  • Wow. I think I could watch that on loop for awhile. I find it relaxing and also thrilling because even though it is far away it is still voyeuristic.

  • I too find it relaxing. It reminds me of the feeling you get watching a fish tank.

  • i thought the cars were going to crash too. haha.

also you can't turn right on a red on the island of Montreal because the city is old and has a lot of narrow street. (so turning right could be dangerous and cause an accident). so they have a blanket rule

    "no right turn on red"

(when i visited the city, my friends dad, who lives there, told me this)

  • @RakureX2 That's not true about all intersections... and it's meant to allow pedestrians to cross safely. We tend to fucking kill them.

  • well.....about 5...

  • what? 10 seconds?

  • Just to inform people who dont know where it is..lol

It on Sherbrooke est, and rue Berri, under sherbooke road.

  • im smart :P
