I was shocked to find out average pvc window only good for 10 years. My Everest ones been there nearly 25 years!! Still absolutely fine. They did cost a fortune though....

Does anyone have a copy of the feather and helicopter advert..... I remember being scared of helicopters when I was a kid at the time..... Everytime I saw one in my neighbourhood or on the telly I used to cringe.....

If cared for properly, wooden window frames can last more than a hundred years. It's a question of convenience. If you want to repaint wooden frames every 3 years then you've got a great product that will outlive any human. If you don't want to spend the time or money on this then buy PVC-U but don't expect them to last or look good after 30 years. It's true, modern PVC-U windows are better than the ones in the 80s, but they still have many drawbacks.

And how often do you replace wooden windows you tool? They've been replaced probably because modern PVCu windows are drastically more efficient than those of 20 years ago.

I believe this was the last ad Ted did for Everest - he committed suicide the same year this ad came out in 1986.

Brilliant ad!!! Ted really was a jack-of-all-trades - but he was also a brilliant gameshow panellist.
