weapon of peace were one of those early 80's bands feted by the nme and sounds
as the next hope for multi cultural british music.
coming through graduate music just like ub40 but offering a far wider stroke
of the roots reggae brush.
this cut is from the "if" 12" on fontana and boasts the mighty dennis bovell at the controls..

  • thack65 said "Brilliant! I thought I was the only person to have heard of W.O.P. There self titled debut in 1981 was one of the first albums I bought with my own money, but is one of my all time favourites. It was produced by Bob Lamb who worked on UB40's Sighning Off . They had a lovely sound but possibly suffered commercially by not being reggae enough for the hardcore market, but not pop enough for the UB40 market. Any chance of uploading 'If' ?"

  • many many apologies thack65.. ill definately post the other side up.. :)
