  • it's an arab instrument. In the arab language, the article AL is obligatory. In the Renaissance it was called "AL Oud " and then Alaude both in Portugal and Spain.

  • NO SUGAR TONIGHT 1970

  • Bellissimo video e brano.

    I miei più vivi complimenti

    E buona serata,

Pino e gli amici della musica.

  • Bom som...

  • Very nice, 5 stars ۞ ۞ ۞ ۞ ۞

  • I guess you are right, though the two instruments are meant to be somewhat distinguished today, if not by construction, at least by playing. The history of the stringed instruments is fascinating. Thank you for your correction.

  • passingbynight,

there is nothing wrong with saying alaoud (spelled alaude in spanish and ortuguese ) the word oud is arabic as you know and native Arabic speakers say it both ways, oud and aloud. Alaoud means THE oud. so, there is nothing wrong with saying alaude !!!

  • Oud, not Alaude.
