The Somaly Mam Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting the $12 billion per year sex-trafficking industry. On September 29th 2009 in Beverly Hills, CA, this foundation hosted an event to reach out to the community and inform people of the victims and survivors of such cruelty. Attendees included AnnaLynne McCord, Ashley Rickards, Christina Cox, Chuy Bravo, Edi Gathegi, Kara DioGuardi, Laurie Holden, Ron Livingston, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Walter Perez. Everyone in attendance is fighting for a cause that is crucial for many young women in Cambodia. Sexual trafficking is an ongoing event that is harming countless individuals. Slavery is not over, so take a chance to help out another in need, be their courage, their strength, and their support. Love someone who's never been shown love, do something incredible. • Somaly Mam is a Hero of not just the wonderful Khmer people, but to all people who object to this modern form of slavery and exploitation, and the obligation of the powerful is to insure the safety and protection of the innocent, and to seek justice against the political factions which create or allow this terrible situation to continue!

  • @albertkimha wonderfully said :) :) :)

  • I first discovered Somaly Mam's Foundation when I borrowed The Road of Lost Innocence from the school library. Amazing book! The work she has done is inspiring!

P.S: I watched that video a year ago but couldn't remember where I saw Walter Perez. He's from the movie Fame!!!!
