This is a footage of how our linear drive function on our robot works. A motor drives a screw. That screw is connected to a nut thats inside a plastic channel. The nut is connected to the piston. Inventor models (soon to be uploaded) provided us that this mechanical device is very effective in changing the robot's effective range. To prevent the nut from hitting the ends of the channel, there are limit switches when triggered, prevents the motor from turning too much the screw towards the channel's end.
