Microchip Additions to Clothing Possible

Ever feel like big brother is watching you sometimes? Well if you wear the right clothing it might just be the case. Our New York team tells us how clothing companies may be watching you.

STORY:
New York's Fashion Institute of Technology held a conference on Wednesday to confer upon the usage of Radio Frequency Identification in garments. This technology otherwise known as RFID employs tiny devices which can respond with identifying information when prompted by a master transceiver via radio waves.

Outside the Fashion Institute of Technology, a group of people were not singing praises for the proposed use of these radio tracking devices in clothing products.

Best selling author, and director of CASPIAN Consumer Privacy, Dr. Katherine Albrecht has been opposing retail surveillance since 1999.

Bradley Berlin one of the attendees of the conference, and a business integrator at Stealth Network Commuications shared his views on the new use of this technology.

This could be a more efficient means of inventory control, but the technology's potential for invading consumer privacy, continues to raise concerns for certain organisations.

All one has to do is to develop an technology to eliminate the capacity of the RFID to respond to those who control it. So, for those who have technology background, it is time to go to work to eliminate its effectiveness through new technologies that erase the RFID capacities.

RFID is the reason the government needed to clear the air waves and go digital. They are going to use the freed up bandwidth for this tracking and sell use of it to corporations.
