Vallarpadam

Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment terminal (ICTT) will be commissioned by April 2010.
The project which was originally planned to be commissioned by April 2009 was once postponed to November 2009 due to delay in land acquisition for road, rail connectivity. Now the rail connectivity is on schedule but road connectivity is delayed due to problems from locals faced in certain areas. Two lane road connectivity will be ready by March 2010 and it will be made into 4-lane in another six months.
ICTT whose work is otherwise on schedule will be opened by April 2010. Dozens of container freight stations are also under construction in and around Kochi city.
