I have never understood how anyone could praise FDR. He has cost the people trillions in waste. Programs the were ineffective and failures. You would think we would learn from his mistakes.

FDR extended the depression by 8 years because of his socialist programs. He is imposed excise taxes on alcoholic , cigarettes, matches, candy, chewing gum, margarine, fruit juice, soft drinks, cars, tires (including tires on wheelchairs), telephone calls, movie tickets, playing cards, electricity, radios and many other everyday things. Those taxes hurt the poor and middle class the most. He raised income and corporate taxes. He hurt businesses, people and jobs.
