@MrArmystrong74 If you you looked at the comment I put later, I was saying that this was the mask that replaced the m17. I was not stateing that this mask was the m17.

To fit it back in the case you need to fold the mask correctly. The top half of the mask (the eye pieces) folds inside out into the bottom section of the mask. The fold line is between the eye piece and the top of the filter molding. If you hold the mask open at the back and push down on the top of the mask it will fold.
I'd make a video to show how it's done but my mask is pack in a box back in Melbourne and I'm in London. When I purchased my mask off of ebay it had never been out of its bag.

Hey man it says riot control agents because it was only used by tunnel rats, they didnt put that because Vietnam was a police action. They wanted to make sure that people knew it only protected against Riot control agents, this mask would offer no protection against any NBC agents. That is why this mask is not a replacement, it was only used by forward unites of the 1st cavalry division and a few others. Troops still used the M17 to protect against Agent orange
