I just lost my best friend 4 days ago. She had kidney failure and we couldn't get her to eat. After 6 days of not eating me and my wife decided it was best to put her down. I am a Iraq combat war vet and went through some very hard times(mentally)when I got home. I got her and did a 180. Even when she was very weak and could hardly move she still mustered up the energy to great me at the door with a wagging tail. It's killing me knowing that she saved my life and I could do nothing to save hers.

I have three 'adopted' dogs. The first one still a blind eyed puppy rescued from the non stop traffic has just been diagnosed withb acute kidney failure. The reason: Big fucking corporations ( palmolive/colgate?!) make Hills 'Scientific Diet' for Renal Failure). the rest are owned by Mars (Mars ?!) et al THERE is NO regulation/investigation as to whether these corporations are qualified in Animal Nutrition in the US. I bought the ebook yesterday, very helpful information. Unfortunately my mom and I are sure that our dog is too far gone and we are just delaying the inevitable. It's so hard to accept. I really wish i would have known all the information sooner. He is pretty old (11 years) and only a matter of time before we would have to let him go but it doesn't make it any easier to take that's for sure :/.
