Luckily Billy can excuse most of his mistakes on the basis of not knowing the correct English translation for the technique

when doing vibration or compression or something like that, it can be done in most cases.
but never put direct pressure on the spine. EVER! it hurts like hell, and it's not beneficial whatsoever.
but! light direct pressure on the grooves located on the sides of the spine is coo.
I've been studying massage for the last 7 months.

The way I learned this technique you are actually cupping over the spine, not pushing on it. He is pressing on the muscles on either side. I think it's really hard to see this in the video, but he is not pushing on the verterae.

im really hating this youtube advertising thing

thank you very much,
but excuse me, can we press on the vertebrae?! why?
-
hes doing it on the sides of the spine, not directly on it

the guy from the sportsmassage video would stab you xD "NEVER push down on the spine!"
"make sure the person is breathing" Thanks Billy

It is actually ok to apply light to medium pressure on the spine if the pressure is evenly distributed over a wider area e.g. the entire palm. Pressure should not be applied directly onto an individual vertebrae or concentrated on a small area of the spine.
