The magnificent Swedish trumpeter and Louis Armstrong scholar is joined here by trumpeter Mike Durham, trombonist Paul Munnery, reedman Matthis Seuffert, pianist Martin Litton, plectrist Jacob Ullberger, brass bassist Phil Rutherford, and drummer Nick Ward for a concert (July 9, 2009) at the Sage Gateshead, Newcastle, UK -- prelude to the Whitley Bay Jazz Festival! -- an international band saluting the first six years of Louis Armstrong's recording career. This video captures the second song of the night -- a stately reading of WHERE DID YOU STAY LAST NIGHT? as King Oliver and his Creole Jazz Band performed it in Chicago in 1922-3. Recorded (illicitly) by Michael Steinman. See and hear more at http://www.jazzlives.wordpress.com.
I wish we had gone to this concert - but at least I can enjoy what you have filmed!
